Hawk Talk with Kirk Special Thursday

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz will huddle with Gary Dolphin, the radio voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Thursday for a special edition of “Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz,” the weekly radio call-in show of Iowa’s veteran head coach.

Ferentz and Dolphin will gather with friends of the UI and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes at Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café in Iowa City, the official home of “Hawk Talk.” The one-hour special will begin at 7 p.m. Iowa time and will be broadcast live by the following affiliates of the Hawkeye Radio Network: Flagship stations WHO Des Moines and WMT Cedar Rapids, KGLO in Mason City, KDTH in Dubuque, KNDD in Harlan, KUOO in Spirit Lake and KDEC in Decorah.

Thursday’s special edition of Hawk Talk with Kirk Ferentz will also be available to subscribers of Hawkeye All-Access, the multi-media space inside hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Iowa football team will stage its annual Coca-Cola Classic Iowa Spring Practice Saturday at historic Kinnick Stadium. The team practice will begin shortly after 1 p.m. and continue for approximately two hours. Select gates to the stadium will open at 11:30 a.m.

Admission to Saturday’s practice is free but fans attending the event are encouraged to bring a canned food item for contribution to the Iowa City Crisis Center.
