IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa soccer teams’ 2008 recruiting class is rated at No. 55 nationally, according to rankings released by SoccerBuzz Magazine. Additionally, the Hawkeyes’ class is rated 10th in the Great Lakes region.
“We are excited about the entire class,” Head Coach Ron Rainey said. “We are looking forward to getting them on campus to join our current group.”
Last year’s recruiting class was ranked 94th by the magazine. The 2008 ranking is Iowa’s highest since 1999, when the Hawkeyes’ class was rated 35th.
Iowa opens the 2008 season at home Aug. 23 against Drake.
