IOWA CITY – Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz, the weekly television show featuring the head football coach at the University of Iowa, will kick off its 10th season with a special one-hour look at the 2008 Iowa Hawkeyes.

The show will be hosted by Gary Dolphin, the radio voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, and will include interviews with Ferentz and other UI coaches and student-athletes as they look at Iowa’s defense, offense, special teams and the schedule of opponents for 2008.

The Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz: 2008 Pre-Season Special will debut on Sunday on KYOU-TV in Ottumwa (4 p.m.) and KPTH-DT in Sioux City (10 p.m.). Subscribers to the Spencer Municipal Utilities cable television system will have access to the special Tuesday (Aug.26) at 9 p.m. and CBTV17 subscribers in Council Bluffs will broadcast the special Wednesday (Aug. 27) at 7 p.m.

Eastern Iowa fans of the Hawkeyes will see Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz: 2008 Pre-Season Special at 9 p.m., Friday ( Aug. 29) on KCRG-TV9, eastern Iowa’s television home of the Hawkeyes. The special will make its debut on the Big Ten Network at midnight, Friday (Aug.29).

KCCI-TV, the home of Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz, in central Iowa, and WBQD-TV, the home of the show in the Quad Cities area, have not yet added the special to their programming schedule.
