IOWA CITY, IA –
The University of Iowa men’s and women’s gymnastics teams will be featured on the Big Ten Network a combined four times throughout the 2008-09 season. The announcement came Wednesday from the Big Ten Conference.
Larissa Libby’s GymHawks will be on the Network Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Michigan State, where they will also compete against Illinois State and West Virginia. Also televised will be Iowa’s Feb. 7 conference meet with Ohio State and their final meet of the regular season March 14 at Minnesota. All three meets will be on tape delay.
“It’s great exposure for us,” Libby said. “We were privileged to have the Network come to two of our meets last year and that was a wonderful experience for the team. We are excited to work with them again and have that experience on the road.”
Tom Dunn’s gymnasts will be on the Network Friday, January 30, 2009 when they compete against Big Ten opponent Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.
Both the Iowa men’s and women’s gymnastics team open the 2008 season with the Black and Gold Intrasquad Meet Dec. 6.
