Michigan State Forward Lauren Hill
“I think our team played its heart out and that’s all I could ask for. Even when we were a goal down we still went all out and did our best and I am very happy about that.””Both teams had to play with the weather and you can’t use that as an excuse. We all hate being cold but it was a factor we all had to deal with.”Michigan State Head Coach Tom Saxton
“We showed great courage today with all of the injury problems we’ve had and played hard despite the weather. We have nothing to hang our heads about. This was a tough Penn State team and we can do nothing but move forward.”
“I think the first goal caught us off guard a little bit. We were expecting them to come out in a different formation like they played against Iowa and they didn’t. It surprised us and that’s a credit to their coaching staff but I think we adapted well.”
Penn State Forward Katie Schoepfer
“I think it was a great team effort. Everyone did their part, everyone did what they had to do and we came out with a really a good win against a really good team.”
“We’re really excited. We really want to prove that we deserve the Big Ten title by ourselves. We want to show Minnesota why we’ve won the Big Ten title 11 straight years and why we deserve it.”
Penn State Head Coach Erica Walsh
“I think our team came out ready to play from the first minute. I think we came out feeling like we had something to prove and we came out and went after them. We also handled the weather really well. I’m really pleased with our performance.”
“Minnesota is a good team that’s playing well and I have a lot of respect for them. Right now my focus is on this team and coming off this win. We’re all feeling good now but we have to take care of our bodies and get the energy back. We need to get ready for this team because it’s going to be a tough battle on Sunday.”
