IOWA CITY, Iowa – The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has added a new feature to hawkeyesportsports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes, called “Just the Facts.”

The department has created this space in cyberspace to address “topics of the day.” So, for instance, a variety of staff will use “Just the Facts” to correct misinformation that is being circulated or to provide additional information on a topic that is being discussed. The objective Is to provide answers to questions and, where necessary, offer a “bigger picture” view.
Gary Barta, the UI’s director of athletics, addresses questions about live television coverage of men’s basketball games and the Big Ten Network in today’s first installment.
“First, I’m very excited for tonight’s home opener for Todd Lickliter and the Hawkeyes. I am so pleased with our progress and the direction in which we’re headed,” Barta writes.
“The past couple days I’ve received several questions about television, the Big Ten Network, and men’s basketball. I hope the following will help answer some questions.
“By the way, I think these questions are tangible evidence of the interest in Coach Lickliter’s program. I am looking forward to being in the Arena tonight and hope you will join me.”
