Iowa Head Coach Lisa Bluder
“This was a great win for us. Our energy level wasn’t as good to begin this game. However, I thought we picked it up a lot in the second half. Our shooting and rebounding was excellent throughout the game.”

“Getting to the free throw line was really beneficial for us. We’re fourth in the country in free throws so it’s always a point of emphasis for us to get to the free throw line. I thought our seniors showed great leadership against a young Wisconsin team.”

“We talked about our defense. Wisconsin probably played better against our zone than any team we played in the last six or seven games. They forced us out and we would have liked to stay there because of their potent high-low attack.”

Senior Wendy Ausdemore
On the strong second half start
“That was huge for us. In the first half Wisconsin was getting all the loose balls. We talked at halftime about how we needed to come out with more intensity and be the aggressors on the court and we did that.”

Senior Megan Skouby
“We knew they were going to double us going in and we knew where the open player was going to be, so it was an advantage for us to step out of the zone and swing real fast. It worked well after we realized what they were doing.”
