IOWA CITY, IA – – University of Iowa junior offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga has been named to the 2009 Outland Trophy Watch List. The trophy goes annually to the nation’s top interior lineman.

Bulaga, a 6-6, 315-pounder from Crystal Lake, IL is a two-time letterman after playing as a true freshman in 2007. He was named to the 2008 coach’s second all-Big Ten team and to last year’s College Football News second sophomore all-America squad.

Bulaga is one of only four Big Ten players named to the watch list. Penn State has two players on the list and Illinois one.

The Outland Trophy is the third oldest award in college football. The winner will be announced at the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards show on Dec. 10th.

Three Iowa players have previously won the Outland Trophy. They are Robert Gallery (2003), Alex Karras (1957) and Calvin Jones (1955).
