Football Pregame Show Finds Nice 'Landing'

Sept. 9, 2009

IOWA CITY, Iowa — One week, FRYfest. The next, the pregame show for the Hawkeye Radio Network’s coverage of University of Iowa football. The City of Coralville’s Iowa River Landing is one happenin’ place.

The UI Athletics Department and its multi-media partner, Hawkeye Sports Properties, have team with the City of Coralville, the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, the Coralville Marriott, Vesta restaurant, and the Konami Restaurant and Grill, to serve as the host for the “I-Wireless Road Show.”

The “I-Wireless Road Show,” hosted by Jim Albracht and located in the lobby of the Coralville Marriott, will begin two hours prior to kickoff and will originate the first hour of the Hawkeye Radio Network’s pre-game show on all Saturdays when the Hawkeyes are away from historic Kinnick Stadium. The show will feature a look at that day’s game, analysis from former Hawkeyes, and visits with other special guests.

“The City of Coralville is a long-time partner of the University and the Iowa Hawkeyes. We’re delighted that they’ve teamed with other local businesses to bring our pre-game show to an area of the Iowa City/Coralville community that is growing, energetic and exciting,” said Rick Klatt, the UI’s associate athletics director for external affairs.
