2009-10 Women’s Basketball Schedule

IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa women’s basketball team released its complete 2009-10 schedule today, along with non-conference game times and television information. Iowa will have 21 of its 29 regular season contests broadcast on either ESPN2, Mediacom, Big Ten Network, or BigTenNetwork.com, with the possibility of having its two final regular season games on the Big Ten Network or BigTenNetwork.com.
The Big Ten Network also announced today its expanded coverage of women’s basketball on its website, BigTenNetwork.com. Nearly 90 percent of all women’s basketball home games will receive television or internet coverage during the 2009-10 season. Approximately 100 women’s basketball games will be streamed, in addition to the network’s 55 telecasts in high definition, giving Big Ten women’s basketball more exposure than any other conference in the country.
The Hawkeyes will appear seven times in HD on the Big Ten Network, starting Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. against Boston College at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Other BTN telecasts include Dec. 6 at home versus Michigan (5 p.m.), Dec. 20 at home versus Drake (1 p.m.), Jan. 17 at Purdue (11 a.m.), at Feb. 4 at Ohio State (6:30 p.m.), Feb. 7 at home versus Michigan State (3:30 p.m.) and Feb. 18 at home versus Minnesota (6:30 p.m.).
Iowa will take on Purdue inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. on ESPN2, and will make its only appearance of the season on Mediacom Connections Dec. 10 at Iowa State at 7 p.m.
Head Coach Lisa Bluder’s squad is scheduled to appear on BigTenNetwork.com 12 times. A complete list of those games can be found below. Fans will have to pay a $2.99 fee per game to watch streamed events on BigTenNetwork.com.
KCRG-TV 9 is also expected to announce the addition of at least one women’s basketball broadcast within the next two weeks. Game times for the Nugget Classic in Reno, NV, are also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
