IOWA CITY, Iowa – A 21-10 come-from-behind victory over No. 5 Penn State Saturday night in Beaver Stadium has propelled the previously unranked Iowa Hawkeyes to No. 13 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25.
The Hawkeyes, 4-0 heading into Saturday’s non-conference date with Arkansas State – a game that will be televised live by ESPN2 beginning at 11 a.m. Iowa time from inside historic Kinnick Stadium, collected 788 points. The Nittany Lions slipped to 15th.
Ohio State and Michigan are the only other Big Ten Conference teams to be ranked. The Buckeyes sit at No. 9 and Michigan at No. 23. Florida, Texas and Alabama remained first, second and third, respectively.
Iowa was ranked 22nd in AP’s preseason poll but fell out of the elite list after beating intrastate rival Northern Iowa in its season opener.
