IOWA CITY, Iowa – The nationally ranked Iowa football team’s Homecoming game Saturday, Oct. 10, against Michigan will be televised live by ABC-TV in its prime time 7 p.m. Iowa time slot and the game will be distributed to the entire nation, ABC and the Big Ten Conference announced Sunday.

Saturday’s game has also been designated a “Blackout” event. The sellout crowd of 70,000-plus is encouraged to show their support for the Hawkeyes by wearing black to the game.

Iowa, 5-0 in 2009 after its 24-21 victory over Arkansas State at historic Kinnick Stadium, will be making its second appearance in ABC’s “Saturday Night Football” series in three weeks. The network provided live coast-to-coast coverage of the Hawkeyes’ victory at Penn State two weeks ago in State College, Pa.

Saturday’s game with the Wolverines will be the second of three prime-time appearances for Coach Kirk Ferentz’s Iowa squad in 2009. Iowa’s game at Michigan State later this month will be televised live by the Big Ten Network. That game is slated to kick shortly after 6 p.m. Iowa time.
