Less Than 5,000 and Counting

IOWA CITY, Iowa – 5,000 and counting. That’s the approximate total number of tickets that remained as of Monday for the final three home games of the 2009 season for the nationally ranked University of Iowa football team.

So, if you’re thinking of making you way to Kinnick Stadium yet this season – and the Hawkeyes would love to have you there – don’t delay. Click HERE, call 1-800 IA-HAWKS or visit the UI Athletics Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena and purchase your game tickets.

Available inventory is greatest for the Hawkeyes’ Halloween date with Indiana with about 2,800 tickets left to sell. The Hoosiers are 3-3 overall and will be looking for their first Big Ten Conference win of the season Saturday when they entertain Illinois on Homecoming. Indiana travels to Northwestern next week before visiting Iowa City on Oct. 31.

Iowa’s game against Northwestern the following Saturday – Nov. 7 – is closest to sellout status with about 800 tickets remaining. The Wildcats carry a 4-2 record into their game at Michigan State this weekend. The play home games against Indiana and Penn State before travelling to Kinnick.

Iowa and Minnesota will square off in this year’s battle for Floyd of Rosedale on Nov. 21 – the final day of the regular season for the majority of Big Ten teams. The Gophers are currently 4-2 overall and 2-1 in league games.

Iowa has reached sellout status for three of its first four home games in 2009.
