IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa Hawkeyes, ranked 15th in both the Associated Press and the USA Today Top 25 polls, sit in 13th place in the most recent Bowl Championship Series standings heading into its final game of the 2009 regular season.
Iowa stands ahead of Big Ten Conference peers Penn State (14th), and Wisconsin (16th) and behind Ohio State (10th). Florida, Alabama and Texas remained Nos. 1, 2 and 3. Texas Christian and Boise State — the only other undefeated teams – round out the top five.
Teams that finish in the top 14 of the final BCS standings are eligible to be selection for an at-large invitation to a BCS game.
Iowa entertains Minnesota at 11 a.m. Iowa time Saturday in historic Kinnick Stadium. The game will be televised live by ESPN.
