Iowa Women's Soccer Excels In The Classroom

The University of Iowa women’s soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Monday. The Hawkeyes were named to the 2009 NSCAA College Team Academic Award list. Teams must have an average grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Iowa boasts a team grade-point average of 3.18. The Black and Gold are one of seven Big Ten women’s soccer teams to be honored. Northwestern, Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota, Purdue and Illinois all made the list.

The NSCAA honors men’s and women’s teams across the United States. This year, 568 programs earned the academic award (141 men’s and 327 women’s teams).
