University of Iowa senior Alex Seydel has been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as a member of the 2009 Scholar all-Central Region team.
The San Diego, CA, native posted a 3.47 grade-point average as a business major. Seydel scored five times for the Hawkeyes in 2009, all off penalty kick conversions. She started every game of her career, tallying 80 consecutive starts, the most in Iowa history.
