- The University of Iowa women’s basketball team nearly pulled the upset at No. 8 Ohio State, but fell, 86-82. Iowa is now 11-11 overall and 4-7 in Big Ten play, while Ohio State improves to 22-3 overall and 10-2 in conference action.
- Ohio State now leads the all-time series, 27-25. The Buckeyes have won 12 of the last 13 meetings. Iowa is now 7-17 in games played in Columbus.
- Freshman Jaime Printy became Iowa’s all-time leader for three-pointers made by a freshman Thursday night at Ohio State. Printy’s four treys gave her 50 for the season, which is one better than the previous record of 49, held by Lindsey Meder (1998-99).
- The Hawkeyes were led by freshman Jaime Printy, who scored a game-high 22 points on 9-11 shooting, including a perfect 4-4 from behind the arc. Kachine Alexander recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Kamille Wahlin added 18 points on 8-12 shooting.
- Alexander collected her ninth double-double of the season Thursday at Ohio State, and now has 18 career-double doubles.
- Iowa’s 82 points against Ohio State tie for the season-high in points scored. The Hawkeyes also scored 82 points against South Dakota State Dec. 22.
- Thursday marks the first time under Coach Bluder that the Hawkeyes took a lead into halftime at Value City Arena.
- The Hawkeyes tied a school record for three-pointers made in a Big Ten Thursday at Ohio State, with 11 made treys. The previous record was 11 vs. Purdue Feb. 8, 2001 and at Penn State this season (Dec. 28, 2008).
- Iowa set a new opponent record at Value City Arena Thursday by making 11 three-pointers. The previous record was 10, held by Wayne State in 2002, Florida A&M in 2003 and Boston College in 2006.
- The Hawkeyes return to Iowa City Sunday to face the Michigan State Spartans. Tip-off is slated for 3:30 p.m. inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network (HD).
