Opening Statement
This was a very good win for us. Michigan State really came in playing extremely well, winning four games in a row. They had a lot more height and brawn than we did. For us to out rebound Michigan State by 10 is an excellent effort by our players, both offensively and defensively. We had five players in double figures. I love the balance that our team has right now. It was terrific that Kachine was able to get another double-double. Really a gutsy performance out of our team today.

Team Balance
I love the fact that we are so hard to guard because we have so many offensive weapons on the floor. Jaime got all 11 of her points in the second half, which shows what she is capable of doing in a short amount of time. It shows the confidence in all of our players and their ability to score. Kash did a really good job of getting to the free throw line. As a team, we shot very well at the free throw line and got to the bonus early. That changed our focus when we got the bonus early; we looked for penetration a little more.

Kamille’s Injury
She got stepped and fallen on. She suffered a concussion and we were not able to use her the last 10 minutes of the game. It was big of Trisha Nesbitt to come in and play that many minutes under a tough situation. We are very thankful that Trisha came in and played very well for us. Kamille has a big shiner, but the concussion is what we are most worried about. She’s probably more worried about the bruise. She will have to be monitored, but we have tomorrow off and our next game isn’t until Thursday. I think that’s optimistic in her healing in time for the game.

21, Kachine Alexander

Emotion
Now we are starting to play a lot more with emotion, everybody’s breaking out of their shell. If Kelly gives us one fist pump everybody goes crazy. Now everyone is stepping up and it’s great.

20, Kelly Krei

Physical Game
We knew coming in it was going to be one of our more physical games in the Big Ten. We prepared for that, unfortunately we had an injury with Kamille, but we came out ahead.
