IOWA CITY, IA – The University of Iowa volleyball team continues its spring season with a trip to Lawrence, KS this weekend. The Hawkeyes will face the Kansas Jayhawks Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center. The two teams will train together Saturday morning with a series of six-on-six drills before breaking for lunch and returning for the afternoon match.
This weekend marks Iowa’s second of three spring competitions. The Hawkeyes faced Marquette two weeks ago in a match Head Coach Sharon Dingman described as a learning experience.
“I think one of the things we learned at Marquette is, yes, we’re working hard, but everybody is working hard. Yes, we’re getting better, but everybody is getting better. This weekend I’d like to see something new. I’d like to believe we corrected our weaknesses from two weeks ago and, whether it is a strength or a weakness, I’d like to see something new exposed. We need to embrace the mentality that what we’re doing right now has a huge impact on what we’re going to do in the fall.”
Following this weekend’s trip to Kansas, the Hawkeyes head north April 17 to wrap up the spring competition schedule against the Northern Iowa Panthers in Cedar Falls, IA.
