BLOOMINGTON, IN – The University of Iowa women’s golf team improved 12 strokes in its final round of the Indiana Invitational, finishing in 12th place of 16 teams. The Hawkeyes shot an even 300 the final 18 holes. Indiana won the 54 hole tournament by six strokes (204-291-291, +22).
Sophomore Chelsea Harris (80-75-72, +11) led Iowa, showing improvement in every round. Harries tied for 29th after shooting par the final round. Junior Laura Cilek (78-80-72, +14) also shot par today to finish tied for 34th place.
Freshman Kristi Cardwell showed improvement throughout the tournament, going from an 83 the first round, to a 77 the third. Cardwell, junior Brianna Coopman and junior Lauren Forbes all finished +22.
The Hawkeyes will compete next at the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, OH, April 17-18.
