Hawkeyes Fall To Notre Dame

April 19, 2010

SOUTH BEND, IN – The University of Iowa soccer team traveled to South Bend, IN, to take on Notre Dame in a spring showdown Saturday. The Hawkeyes faced tough competition in the Fighting Irish, a team that fell in the semifinals last year and finished ranked fourth nationally. Iowa fell 3-1.

Iowa’s leading scorer, Keli McLaughlin, scored the team’s only goal. Morgan Showalter and Alyssa Cosnek were both credited with assisting the goal.

The Hawkeyes look to rebound from the first loss of the spring season next weekend in the team’s final spring games. Iowa heads to Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers as well as Iowa State and Kansas.
