MONTICELLO, IA – Building off the success of the inaugural Strength Training and Injury Prevention Clinic for Girls, Director of Strength and Conditioning JC Moreau held a similar clinic at the Eastern Iowa Sports Facility in Monticello, IA.
“Our goal was once again to get this information out there with the hope that athletes and coaches will start implementing it into their daily workouts and warm ups,” Moreau said of the satellite clinic. “By hosting it in Monticello we were able to attract more athletes and coaches from north-central and northeastern Iowa.”
Similar to the clinic held at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in February, the satellite clinic was free of charge. Bud and Georgia Johnson generously hosted the event, attended by approximately 60 athletes and coaches, at their beautiful new facility.
“It is one of those things that will grow by word of mouth,” said Moreau. “All the feedback we have received has been positive, so we hope that correlates to an even larger number next year.”
Moreau and the entire strength and conditioning staff is scheduled to present similar techniques and exercises at several University of Iowa Sports Camps this summer.
