The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach. This is a 10-month position and includes University benefits.
Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach in the management and coaching of a NCAA Division I women’s tennis program. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with operations management (e.g., program development, schedule, travel coordination, budget, equipment, camps, marketing, public relations, fundraising), recruiting (domestic and international), planning team practices, overseeing and planning strength training and conditioning activities, conducting individual workouts, and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) required. NCAA Division I playing or coaching experience; demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; superior communication skills; demonstrated knowledge and experience in organizational and administrative skills; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment required.
Preferred qualifications: Experience coaching female tennis student-athletes at the elite level and/or at the NCAA Division I level is highly desirable. Ability to competitively challenge elite players on a Division I team. Preference will be given to candidates that most effectively meet the program development and recruiting needs of the women’s tennis program.
