IOWA CITY, IA- The University of Iowa swimming and diving program announced its schedule for 2010-11 season today. The Hawkeyes will be showcasing their talents in Iowa City in six home meets at the new Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC), including the Hawkeye Invitational, Dec. 3-5.
The 2010 Hawkeye invitational will welcome Notre Dame, Denver, UNI, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wisconsin Green Bay and South Dakota State. Last year, both the men and women won the three-day competition.
The CRWC will also be the host site for the 2010 US Diving National Championships. The week-long event will be held Jan. 16-23. Following the team’s Black and Gold intrasquad meet Oct. 2, Head Coach Marc Long and the team will kick off the regular season at home against Truman State Friday, Oct. 8. The first meet of the season is set to begin at 6 p.m. The Hawkeyes will begin conference competition the following week.
In Big Ten action, the Hawkeyes will host Wisconsin (Oct.15) and Northwestern (Jan.22). Iowa will travel to conference opponents Michigan State (Oct. 22), Minnesota (Nov.5) and Illinois (Jan.15).
The women’s postseason begins at the Big Ten Championships at Indiana Feb. 16-19. The postseason concludes at the NCAA Championships Mar. 17-19 in Austin, TX. The men’s postseason begins at the Big Ten Championships at Minnesota Feb. 23-26. The postseason concludes at the NCAA Championships at Minnesota Mar. 24-26
