IOWA CITY – The University of Iowa swimming and diving program will have a new home for the 2010-11 season. The new Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC) will serve as the new home for the Hawkeyes.
The facility is located at the corners of Burlington and Madison streets. Construction started in the fall of 2007 and will be completed at the end of this summer. The CRWC includes a 50-meter competition pool, a separate diving well, a leisure pool with lap lanes and 24,000 square feet of fitness space.
The swimming and diving coaches moved into the new facility offices July 7. The athletes hope to begin training at the new CRWC pool in August. The Iowa swimming and diving program will hold its first home meet at the new facility Oct. 8 at 6 against Truman State.
