The 2010 Hawkeyes understand the excitement that accompanies summer vacation – long days, trips to the pool, spending countless hours with friends – so they’re using the official website of the Iowa Hawkeyes to connect with their fans and share a little bit about themselves. Why did you choose the University of Iowa and Iowa Volleyball?
“Academically this is a great school, and there’s always someone there to help you out with classes! I LOVE Iowa City – it’s a city with a small town, comfortable feel, and Hawkeye fans are the greatest in the world!”

Favorite Iowa volleyball player (past or present) to watch and why?
“Melanie Meister. She was a senior when I came in as a freshman. She taught me so much through watching her and I was honored to be able to play with her everyday! She also has one of the greatest work ethics I have ever seen, on and off the court. She excels in everything she does, and never settles for anything less than her best.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
“Somewhere in the Caribbean!”

Favorite thing about the Iowa Volleyball Team?
“We are all so different, but we all get along so well! I love getting to spend every day with such great people. We have gone through so much together, and I wouldn’t pick a different group of girls to do it with!”

What super power would you most like to have? Why?
“ESP! I would love to see and communicate with my loved ones who have passed away!”

If you could play another sport in college what would it be and why?
“Gymnastics, because when people always ask if I play basketball or volleyball….I would really just like to say, ‘nope, I am a 6’3″ gymnast.'”

Most played song (& by whom) on your iPod?
The River by Garth Brooks”

What is the best characteristic about you?
“Persistence – I never give up on anything I feel important!”

What is something you can’t live without? Why?
“MY FAMILY! They raised me with great morals, and have always been there for me. I can never thank them enough!!!”

Future plans after graduating from the University of Iowa?
“I would like to get into training athletes and individuals to their highest potential, and helping people improve quality of life through healthy diet and exercise.”

Finish the sentence…
I play best when… I don’t think, just play.

The best thing about volleyball is… getting a stuff block!

I hope to be remembered in life for… putting a smile on others faces.

One day I will… look like Jillian Michaels! HAH! But seriously…. be able to give back to my parents to show my sincere appreciation for all they have done for me!
