IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s soccer team faced the St. Louis Billikens Sunday afternoon at the Iowa Soccer Complex. The final non-conference game played through two periods of extra time before the clock expired, ending the game in a 0-0 draw.

Iowa’s offense created good opportunities, but the physical St. Louis defense kept the home team from finding the net.

“It was frustrating today that we created some good opportunities and weren’t able to finish them,” Head Coach Ron Rainey said. “But, we will take that and use it as a focal point this week in practice as we prepare for Wisconsin next weekend.”

Emily Moran was in goal for Iowa. The junior from Kent, OH, recorded three saves in the tie game.

The Hawkeyes travel to Madison, WI, to face the Badgers next weekend. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. (Oct. 3).
