IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa’s football team’s game against Indiana next season has been designated as the UI’s 2011 Homecoming event, the UI Athletics Department announced today. The UI has also finalized the Homecoming event for 2012 and UI Family Weekend games for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

The Iowa football team will play Indiana on Oct. 22, 2011 at historic Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes’ home game against Minnesota on Sept. 29, 2012 will be the Homecoming football game for that academic year.
Iowa’s game against Michigan State on Nov. 12, 2011 and its date with Purdue on Nov. 10, 2012 have been designated as the annual UI Family Weekend events.
These new game assignments come as a result of the shuffling of future Big Ten Conference schedules that were required after the addition of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to the league last summer.
