IOWA CITY, Iowa — A victory over Michigan in Ann Arbor Saturday pushed the Iowa Hawkeyes to rungs higher in the college football two

The Hawkeyes, 38-28 winners over the Wolverines, climbed to No. 13 in the Associated Press Top 25 and to No. 12 in the USA Today list. The first Bowl Championship Series standings will be released later today.

Iowa is one of four Big Ten Conference teams in the elite lists. Michigan State is ranked eight in both, Wisconsin – Iowa’s opponent Saturday at historic Kinnick Stadium – is ranked 10th by AP, 11th by USA Today.

Ohio State, last week’s No. 1, fell to No. 11 in AP and No. 10 in USA Today’s list.Oregon is the nation’s new No. 1 – the third in three weeks. The Ducks are followed by Boise State, Oklahoma, Texas Christian and Auburn in both lists.

The Hawkeyes’ date with Wisconsin is scheduled to kick off shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday and will be televised live by ABC and ESPN, where not available on ABC. Michigan State visits Kinnick for the fifth annual Blackout Saturday on Oct. 30.
