IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former University of Iowa women’s basketball players Jamie Cavey and Johanna Solverson, along with many other former Division I basketball players, will take part in the second annual WEPAC Alliance Charity Basketball Game.

The game will benefit the WEPAC Alliance, a Kansas foundation that pays for cancer-preventative care for women in five Kansas Communities, along with the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Cavey and Solverson are two of 25 players taking part in the event. Other players include WNBA players Jackie Stiles, Cass Bauer, Helen Darling, Edna Campbell, Sheryl Swoopes and Sidney Spencer.

Fox Sports Midwest will televise the event live across Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Iowa, with Brenda VanLengen and former Colorado Head Coach Ceal Barry calling the action.

Bob’s Your Uncle restaurant in Iowa City has organized a “game watch” for fans interested in catching Cavey and Solverson in action. The game is scheduled to air live Friday at 7 p.m.
