Bluder Live Today

Nov. 4, 2010

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Lisa Bluder will talk about her nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes and their exhibition game against Concordia of St. Paul, Minn., Sunday at 1 p.m. inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Bluder’s visit with the media is available live to subscribers of hawkeyesports.com’s Hawkeye All-Access, the multi-media portal of the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The game will be the only public exhibition game for Bluder’s Bunch which is ranked 22nd in the pre-season Associated Press Top 25 for women’s basketball and No. 25 in the first USA Today poll. The Hawkeyes open their regular season Nov. 14 versus Southern in the Islander Tipoff Tournament in Corpus Christi, Texas.

“And all of us know our team is not dotted with All Americans, that’s not what our roster is. We’re kind of a blue collar group that has to work extremely hard, play great team basketball, have that team chemistry, and they all know that, they understand that,” Bluder said of her squad at last week’s Big Ten Media Day in Chicago.

“They understand to be successful we have to emulate the same things that we did last year and embrace the same enthusiasm and love of the game and love for each other that we had last year. That’s the only way that our team is going to be successful because our margin for error isn’t great.”

In addition to live coverage of each of Bluder’s weekly press conferences, subscribers to Hawkeye All-Access also have exclusive access to the weekly visits with the media of UI football coach Kirk Ferentz and UI men’s basketball coach Fran McCaffery, live and exclusive coverage of Ferentz’s, McCaffery’s and Bluder’s post-game media conference after home events, live and exclusive coverage of the weekly “Hawk Talk” radio shows of Iowa’s head football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball coaches, and, of course, the live play-by-play of every Iowa women’s basketball game featuring the Hawkeye Radio Network’s Brent Balbinot and Shelly Till, and all football men’s basketball and wrestling events.
