Iowa No. 24 in AP, USA Today and BCS Lists

Nov. 21, 2010

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Apparently, those who cast votes in the two national polls have done their homework and have agreed: A team that has lost three Big Ten Conference games by a total of eight points is deserving of a position in the Top 25.

The Hawkeyes will travel to Minnesota for their annual battle for Floyd of Rosedale – the bronzed pig that is the property of the team that wins the Iowa-Minnesota football game each year – as the No. 24 team in the Associated Press and USA Today Top 25 polls. The UI is also No. 24 in this week’s Bowl Championship Series standings.

Iowa and Minnesota square off at 2:30 p.m. , Iowa time, in Minneapolis. The game will be televised live to a national audience by the Big Ten Network.

Oregon, Auburn, Texas Christian, Boise State and LSU are Nos. 1 through 5.

This is Iowa’s 38th total appearance in the BCS poll which is now in its 13th season. This year’s BCS schedule is as follows:
