IOWA CITY, Iowa – Hawk Talk with Lisa Bluder, the weekly radio call-in show with Iowa’s head coach, is back for another season. This year’s call-in show will be held at a new location and will originate from Mondo’s Sports Café located at 516 2nd Street on the Coralville Strip.
Hawk Talk with Lisa Bluder is hosted by Brent Balbinot, the radio voice of the Iowa women’s basketball team. The show is 60 minutes of discussion about Hawkeye women’s basketball and features phone calls and questions from fans across the Midwest. Hawk Talk with Lisa Bluder at Mondo’s Sports Café is free to the public and begins at 6 p.m.
To celebrate the start of Hawk Talk at Mondo’s Sports Café, the first 50 fans to attend Monday’s first show will receive a pair of tickets to next Thursday’s Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk series matchup, featuring the No. 18 ranked Hawkeyes and the No. 19 ranked Iowa State Cyclones. Should both teams stay ranked next week, it would be the first time in series history that Iowa and Iowa State would play as ranked opponents.
Fans are also reminded that the Hawkeyes entertain Kansas State at 2 p.m. Sunday. The event is Iowa’s annual “Bucknight,” with all tickets costing just $1. Fans can also stop by one of the four Iowa City or Coralville Hy-Vee locations to pick up a free ticket to Sunday’s game (while supplies last).
