IOWA CITY, Iowa – `tis the season for giving…and that’s what the UI Athletics Department will do next Tuesday (Dec. 21) when the Iowa men’s basketball team entertains Louisiana Tech in the Hawkeyes’ final non-conference home game of the 2010-11 season.
The game is the first of five scheduled “Iowa Basketball Bobblehead” give-away dates at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a souvenir collector’s edition Fran McCaffery bobblehead.
All fans attending the game will also receive upon entry a scratch-to-win card that offers a chance to win a McCaffery bobblehead (2,000 winners), a season ticket to the home games of the 2010-11 Iowa Hawkeyes (50 winners), $5 off any purchase at the Official Iowa Hawk Shop (100 winners) or a free ticket to selected 2010-11 home events of UI teams (all other cards distributed).
The Iowa-Louisiana Tech game is also a UI Faculty/Staff Appreciation Game. Current UI faculty and staff who present their UI identification card at the UI Athletics Ticket Office receive one free ticket to this game and can purchase additional tickets at the $8 group rate. In addition, tickets for boys and girls high school age and younger cost just $5.

As friends of the UI and fans of the Hawkeyes know, the UI Athletics Department is well into a multi-million dollar revitalization of Carver-Hawkeye Arena. This important and exciting project has reduced for this season the number of ticket windows that are operational on game nights. Fans attending the home events of the 2010-11 UI men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling teams are invited to avoid game night delays by purchasing their event tickets online or in advance of game day. If your schedule doesn’t allow for an advance purchase, we recommend you consider arriving at the Arena a little earlier than originally planned.
