This Week, 'On Iowa'

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Stay in tune to the happenings of the Iowa Olympic sports with This Week, `On Iowa’. The weekly feature caught up with the coaching staffs of four Hawkeye sports earlier this week.

Frannie Malone, associate head coach for Iowa swimming and diving, talked about the Hawkeyes’ performance at the Big Ten Championships, where school record after school record went down.

Head men’s tennis coach Steve Houghton and the Hawkeyes open Big Ten Conference play against Illinois on Sunday at the HTRC. Houghton’s squad has won three straight matches, downing Illinois State, Western Michigan and Drake.

Head baseball coach Jack Dahm touched on his team’s pitching performance earlier this week in Lawrence, Kan. Dahm then talked about the process of seeing his team continue to improve day-to-day and week-to-week.

Head men’s track and field coach Larry Wieczorek talked about his team’s fourth place finish at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, where the Hawkeyes exceeded expectations. He then touched on the prospects for his squad at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
