Soccer Scores Shutout at Nebraska

March 6, 2011

LINCOLN, Neb. — The University of Iowa women’s soccer team posted a second shutout victory in spring play Sunday afternoon. The Hawkeyes downed Nebraska in Lincoln, 1-0.

Sophomore Dana Dalrymple was the lone Hawkeye to find the net in the match up with the Cornhuskers. Dalrymple has scored two goals thus far in spring play, netting one last weekend in Iowa’s win over Drake as well.

Junior Emily Moran was in goal for Iowa, securing her second consecutive shutout victory of the spring season.

“Nebraska is a team that puts you under a ton of pressure offensively and defensively,” Head Coach Ron Rainey said. “We had some good sequences of defending and possession that were effective today. It was a fun game to be a part of.”

The Hawkeyes will be back in action April 2 when they host Illinois State.
