Meet the Hawkeyes: Grace Burns

IOWA CITY, IowaGrace Burns is a 5-10 libero from Geneva, IL. She played for Grand Valley State as a freshman in 2010 before transferring to the University of Iowa in 2011. She joined the Hawkeye volleyball program in January and recently sat down with hawkeyesports.com for some quick hitters.

Q: Has anything surprised you about Iowa City since you arrived in January?
“There is so much to do here! I love all of the shops and restaurants downtown.”

Q: What have you been doing since arriving on campus in January?
“A lot of volleyball, homework, hanging out with the team, and getting to know the campus.”

Q: If you were cast on a reality TV show, which one would you prefer to be on and why?
“One of the MTV “The Challenge” series because you do different physical and athletic competitions to win money.”

Q: What is your favorite movie?
“Man on Fire”

Q: Do you prefer watching movies at home or in the movie theater?
“Watching movies at home.”

Q: Do you prefer breakfast, lunch or dinner? Why?
“Breakfast, at any time of the day!”

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
“Michael Vick”

Q: What was your favorite TV show when you were growing up?
“Friends”

Q: What is your favorite holiday? Why?
“Christmas because the whole season is wonderful!”

Q: What is playing on your iPod right now/who is your favorite artist?
“Anything country-Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum.”

Q: Do you have any pregame superstitions?
“I always listen to the same songs on my ipod.”

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in the Iowa City area?
“I really like The Vine .”

Q: What are you most looking forward to this year and next?
“Just being a part of the Hawkeye volleyball team!”
