UI to Begin Accepting Season Ticket 'Requests' From New Customers

March 23, 2011

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Fans of the University of Iowa football team who did not purchase season tickets last season but are interested in making that purchase for the 2011 home schedule for Kirk Ferentz’s Hawkeyes can now submit their request online.

Requests can be made by visiting hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes, and by clicking on the “TICKETS” tab at the top of the page and the “BUY TICKETS” option in the drop-down menu.

Fans of the Hawkeyes will be invited to request up to two (2) general public or UI faculty/staff season tickets. If season tickets are available after those who purchased season tickets a year ago make their renewal decision, requests from new customers will be filled based on the UI Athletics Department’s Priority Point System.

Fans requesting season tickets will not be required to pay for the tickets when they place their request. They will, however, be charged a $10 processing fee that will be applied against the season ticket purchase if they are eligible for season tickets. The process of a season ticket request does not guarantee that the request will be filled.

Fans are reminded that some seat locations inside historic Kinnick Stadium do require a per-seat contribution to the National I-Club. For more information about this important detail, click HERE.

Fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes who purchased season tickets are a year ago are reminded that they have until 5 p.m., Friday, April 29, to place their season ticket order for 2011. The cost of a season ticket purchased by the general public for the seven home games of the 2011 UI football team is $374. The cost for a season ticket purchased by a member of the UI faculty and staff is $304.

The Iowa football team begins its spring practices today. The Hawkeyes will stage their annual open practice at historic Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, April 16. That event is open to the public and will begin at approximately noon.

Iowa opens its 2011 season on Saturday, Sept. 3, against Tennessee Tech in the annual Varsity Club Day game at historic Kinnick Stadium. That event follows on the heels of the third annual FRY Fest event to be staged on Friday, Sept. 2, at the Iowa River Landing in Coralville. To learn more about FRY Fest, click HERE.
