IOWA CITY, Iowa — Two University of Iowa football players have been named to the GoDaddy.com 2011 Preseason All-America team. Senior defensive back Shaun Prater has been named to the second team and junior offensive lineman Riley Reiff has received honorable mention recognition.

Prater, an Omaha, Neb., native, ranked second in the Big Ten in interceptions (.33) and seventh in pass break-ups (.83) en route to first team all-Big Ten honors in 2010. He finished second on the team a year ago with 50 solo tackles and fifth in total stops with 68. Prater, who has seen action in 35 career games, including 22 starts, has six career interceptions. He recorded his first career touchdown in Iowa’s win over Penn State on a 33-yard interception return.

Reiff, who hails from Parkston, S.D., has started 21 consecutive games. In 2010, he was named second team all-Big Ten. Reiff earned first team Big Ten all-freshman team honors from the Sporting News in 2009.

Iowa’s annual spring practice that is open to the public is Saturday, April 16, beginning at noon (CT) at Kinnick Stadium.
