June 13, 2011

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The BTN announced today that Wednesday will be the first of three “Iowa” days on the BTN. Hawkeye fans can be interactive during “Iowa Day” by visiting the Hawkeyes’ facebook and twitter feeds. Comment about the current game being replayed; best responses get a retweet.

The network is scheduled to replay three Hawkeye football games, two men’s basketball contests, Nile Kinnick’s Big Ten Icon special and a University of Iowa campus programming piece.

The day will start at 1 p.m. (CT) with back-to-back episodes of Big Ten’s Greatest Games. Airing first will be the basketball team’s 84-82 thrilling overtime win at Indiana from Feb. 7, 2004. At 3 p.m. (CT), the Hawkeyes’ 27-20 double-overtime triumph over Michigan State from Oct. 27, 2007 in Kinnick Stadium will be featured.

A replay of Iowa’s 27-24 come-from-behind win at the Insight Bowl from this past December will begin at 6 p.m. (CT). Two hours later at 8 p.m. (CT), fans can watch senior Jarryd Cole lead the basketball team to a 67-65 upset win over sixth-ranked Purdue, in his final home game, this past March.

The day would not be complete without the main course. At 10 p.m. (CT), relive one of the most exciting bowl games in Iowa history. Watch Warren Holloway catch a 56-yard touchdown pass, as time expires, to lift the Hawkeyes to a 30-25 win over LSU in the 2005 Capital One Bowl.
