IOWA CITY, Iowa — Ten members of the University of Iowa swimming and diving program will compete at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships on Aug. 2-6 in Palo Alto, Calif. The competition will be held at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatic Center.
Prelims begin at 7 a.m. (CT) each morning, while finals are slated to start at 4 p.m. (CT). National Champions will be named each evening.
The event is a selection meet for both the 2011 Pan American Games and the 2011 FINA World Junior Championships. The Pan Am Games will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Oct. 15-22, while the FINA World Juniors will be held Aug. 16-21 in Lima, Peru.
Members of the Hawkeyes competing include: Byron Butler (100 fly, 200 back), Paul Gordon (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 fly), Haley Gordon (100 fly), Jordan Huff (100 free, 200 free), Tyler Lentz (400 fly, 200 IM), Kyle Noser (400 fly), Duncan Partridge (50 free, 100 free), Ryan Phelan (50 free), Dustin Rhoads (100 back) and Donald Warren (400 fly, 200 back).
