PALO ALTO, Calif. — Tyler Lentz earned a 2012 Olympic Trial cut time in the 400 IM at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships being held at Stanford University’s Avery Aquatic Center. Three other members of the University of Iowa swimming and diving program competed this morning.
Lentz swam a time of 4:30.45 to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Trials, which will held in Omaha, Neb., June 25- July 2. He placed 56th out of 142 swimmers in the event.
Donny Warren and Kyler Noser also competed in the 400 IM. Warren posted a time of 4:36.50, while Noser touched the wall at 4:37.65.
Haley Gordon represented the women’s squad in the 100 fly. She recorded a time of 1:04.40.
Grant Betulius, Paul Gordon, Jordan Huff, Dustin Rhoads, and Daniela Cubelic will represent the Hawkeyes tomorrow as the Championships continue.
Prelims begin at 11 a.m. (CT), while finals are slated to start at 8 p.m. (CT).
