Europe Trip Day 5 (Bratislava) Photo Gallery
Hello Hawkeye fans from Bratislava, Slovakia!
The team left Prague today around 10:30 a.m. and hit the road to Bratislava. It was about a five hour trip and it was really cool to see the Czech Republic countryside.
On the way, we stopped at a shopping mall in Brno, Czech Republic for lunch. They had a food court with McDonalds, KFC, Burger King and more American places. I went with a slice of pizza from Villa Pizza. It was a good break from all the local food we have been eating!
Most of the team caught up on sleep during the bus ride. I slept and watched the movie Juno. It was a good ride to Bratislava.
We really didn’t know what to expect heading into Bratislava, but the team really likes it! The place is very chill and there are really no tourists in the town. Most of the team is headed to the New Bridge and the UFO Restaurant tonight to get a good view of the city. The bridge is over the Danube River and the UFO restaurant looks exactly like the name. It’s pretty high in the air, so I’m betting it’s going to be a great view of the city!
Last night’s game was definitely a nail-biter and it was good to come away with the win. I was kind of nervous playing in my first game as a Hawkeye, but settled down once we got into the swing of things. I’m really looking forward to playing again tomorrow night here in Slovakia and getting another win!
