Big Ten Conference Launches Mobile Tour

Aug. 30, 2011

Park Ridge, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference announced on Monday the launch of the Honoring Legends. Building Leaders. Mobile Tour that will visit each Big Ten campus this football season. The tour will contain the Big Ten Football Championship and division trophies and will make its stop in Iowa City for the Oct. 15 game against Northwestern.

The mobile tour will entertain and educate fans about the new era of Big Ten football and the exciting road ahead – two divisions, the championship weekend in Indianapolis, 18 new trophies and the path to the Rose Bowl or BCS National Championship Game.

The tour will stop at a different campus each week, from Thursday through game day on Saturday, and will contain interactive activities, including the opportunity for fans to have their picture taken with the Stagg-Paterno Championship Trophy. The tour will also feature television sets on site for fans to keep up with other games around the conference.

The complete mobile tour schedule can be found on the following page.

Iowa has selected Michele Danno, a double major in journalism and mass communications, to report on the events surrounding the mobile tour by using several different outlets. Visit the Big Ten Mobile Tour Blog (, Twitter page (@B1GMobileTour) and YouTube page ( to learn more about Danno and the reporters from other campuses, and follow often to keep track of the mobile tour. At the end of the season, fans will vote for their favorite reporter, and the winner will have the opportunity to attend the inaugural Big Ten Football Championship Game or a Big Ten bowl game of their choice.
