2011-12 UI Bowl Game Ticket Application, v2

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa Athletics Ticket Office will begin accepting orders for tickets to the 2011 Iowa football team’s bowl game Tuesday at noon.

The Hawkeyes complete their 2011 regular season on Friday when they travel to Lincoln, Neb., to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the inaugural Heroes Game presented by Hy-Vee. Iowa is bowl eligible for the 11th consecutive season and could be selected by up to six different bowl game partners of the Big Ten including the Outback Bowl in Tampa, the Insight Bowl in Tucson, the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, and the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas in Houston.

It’s possible that Iowa will not be officially extended a bowl game invitation until Sunday, Dec. 4, when the pairings for the 2012 Bowl Championship Series games are finalized; an invitation could come as early as Saturday depending on the outcome of the games to be played by Big Ten Conference teams on that day.

Fans of the Hawkeyes interested in following the Iowa football team to its 10th bowl game under head coach Kirk Ferentz can place their ticket order online by clicking HERE at noon, Tuesday (Nov. 22) or they can print the UI’s official bowl game ticket application off the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes and mail, FAX, or hand deliver that application to the UI Athletics Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The UI Athletics Ticket Office will not accept orders by telephone.

The UI Athletics Department will not charge a fan’s credit card for tickets ordered until after the UI officially accepts a bowl game invitation. Also, unlike in recent years, bowl game tickets purchased through the UI Athletics Ticket Office will not include a per-ticket surcharge.

Fans of the Hawkeyes are reminded that the purchase of their bowl game tickets through the UI Athletics Ticket Office helps the UI meet its financial obligation to the bowl game and, more importantly, guarantees them a seat location among other fans of the Hawkeyes on game day.

The UI Athletics Ticket Office will accept bowl game ticket orders through 5 p.m., Iowa time, Friday, Dec. 2. Orders will be filled based on the fan’s UI football season ticket priority. There will be limits on the number of tickets available at certain prices for certain bowl games.

Please note: The UI Athletics Department will not charge a fan’s credit card for tickets ordered until after the UI officially accepts a bowl game invitation. Also, unlike in recent years, bowl game tickets purchased through the UI Athletics Ticket Office will not include a per-ticket surcharge.
