IOWA CITY, Iowa — THE SETTING
The University of Iowa women’s basketball team will play its third road game over a four-game stretch on Thursday, traveling to Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
Four of Iowa’s last five games have been on the road, dating back to Jan. 22 (at Penn State).

IOWA HISTORY
Iowa has played 1,089 games since beginning basketball in 1974. Iowa’s overall record is 664-424 (.610). That includes a 333-170 (.662) mark in regular season Big Ten contests and a 319-91 (.778) mark in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
SCOUTING WISCONSIN
The Wisconsin Badgers are 8-13 overall and 4-5 in Big Ten play. Wisconsin has won three straight games and half of its wins have come during Big Ten play.
In their last game, the Badgers knocked off Michigan, 66-60, in the Kohl Center on Monday. Taylor Wurtz led Wisconsin with 21 points. Jade Davis had 13 points and Anya Covington had eight rebounds. The Badgers turned 10 offensive rebounds into 14 points and had 15 points off the bench in the win.
Wurtz leads the team with 15.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Covington is next at 10 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest.
As a team, Wisconsin is shooting 40 percent (456-1140) from the field, including 34.2 percent (131-383) from 3-point distance.
WISCONSIN VS. IOWA NOTES
? Thursday is the 60th meeting in the series, with Iowa holding a 39-20 advantage in the all-time series. The Hawkeyes have won nine-straight matchups against the Badgers, dating back to the 2006-07 season. The Hawkeyes are 15-11 in Madison and have won the last three games at the Kohl Center, and seven of the last eight in Madison.
? Wisconsin sophomore Morgan Paige is from the same hometown as Iowa’s Jaime Printy (Marion, Iowa). Paige attended Marion HS, while Printy prepped at Linn-Mar HS.
? Wisconsin freshman Lindsay Smith is from Dewitt, Iowa and prepped at Central DeWitt HS.
? Iowa freshman Samantha Logic is from Racine, Wis., and attended Racine J.I. Case HS.
? Wisconsin Director of Operations Jill Jameson graduated from Northern Iowa in 1993 and was a three-year starter for the Panthers.
? Wisconsin Head Coach Bobbie Kelsey is the newest coach in the Big Ten and is in her first season in Madison.
LAST MEETING
Iowa used a solid second half run to defeat Wisconsin, 69-57, Jan. 19 in Iowa City.
With the game tied at 47 with 10:52 remaining, Iowa put together a 17-2 run to put the contest out of reach. The Hawkeyes were a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line during the run.
Jaime Printy (25), Kamille Wahlin (15) and Kelly Krei (10) led Iowa in scoring.
OPPONENTS IN THE RANKINGS
Five Iowa opponents are ranked in the AP or ESPN/USA Today polls: Ohio State (11/11), Purdue (15/17), Nebraska (16/18), Texas A&M (18/16) and Penn State (19/21).
In addition, Kansas State, St. John’s, Michigan State and Kansas State are receiving votes.
HAWKEYES KNOCK OFF NO. 13 PURDUE
Iowa used a strong defensive effort and solid bench contributions to knock off 13th-ranked Purdue, 59-42 on Sunday in Iowa City.
The Hawkeyes limited Purdue to just a 23.3 field goal percentage (14-of-60), including 2-of-14 (14.3) from 3-point distance. Iowa also received 16 points from its bench, led by Theiarra Taylor and Virginia Johnson, who each netted six points and grabbed six rebounds.
The Hawkeyes held a 23-21 advantage at halftime, but outscored Purdue, 36-21 in the second half.
Morgan Johnson led Iowa with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kamille Wahlin had 13 points, four rebounds and two assists.
HAWKEYES CONTINUE TREND AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
Iowa’s win over 13th-ranked Purdue marks the 13th time under Lisa Bluder that the Hawkeyes have defeated at top-15 team.
The Hawkeyes have recorded at least one win against a top-25 team in all but two seasons under Bluder. In eight of those seasons, Iowa has knocked off at least one top-15 opponent.
CLOSING IN ON 1,000
Junior Morgan Johnson needs 58 more points to become the 32nd player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Johnson would be the third active Hawkeye to score 1,000 career points, joining Kamille Wahlin and Jaime Printy.
JOHNSON COLLECTS DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Junior Morgan Johnson collected her third double-double of the season and the 10th of her career in Iowa’s win over No. 13 Purdue (Jan. 28). Johnson finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds against the Boilermakers.
Iowa’s starting center recorded back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in her career earlier this season. She scored 14 points (5-of-10 FGs) and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against Illinois. Johnson followed with 21 points (9-of-14 FGs) and 12 rebounds against Nebraska. Johnson had a double-double at half against the Huskers (10 points and 11 rebounds).
PRINTY AND WAHLIN SCORING NOTES
Junior Jaime Printy became just the 13th player in school history to score 1,300 career points in Iowa’s game vs. Nebraska (Jan. 8), and senior Kamille Wahlin joined the 1,300 point club in Iowa’s game at Penn State (Jan. 22).
Printy also became just the 10th player in Iowa history to hit the 1,400 point mark in Iowa’s win over Purdue (Jan. 28).
Printy cracked the top 10 on Iowa’s career scoring list against Wisconsin (Jan. 19). She entered the game needing five points to pass Wendy Ausdemore for 10th place, and she netted 25.
IOWA RANKS HIGH IN FREE THROW PERCENTAGE
Iowa’s 80.9 (339-of-419) free throw percentage is the best in the Big Ten and ranks fourth in NCAA Division I women’s basketball.
Four Hawkeyes are shooting over 82 percent from the line. Iowa’s starting five has only missed a combined 48 free throws and is shooting 82.9 from the charity stripe (272-of-328).
Individually, Jaime Printy leads the Big Ten with a 90.2 percentage and is ranked eighth nationally in the latest NCAA statistics.
The Hawkeyes haven’t missed more than 10 free throws in any game this year and have attempted at least 10 in every contest, including nine games with 20 or more attempts.
WAHLIN IMPROVING IN BIG TEN PLAY
Iowa senior Kamille Wahlin’s numbers have improved greatly since entering Big Ten play.
Wahlin is averaging 14.1 points per game in eight conference games, compared to 9.5 points during Iowa’s 13 nonconference contests. She has also earned 25 trips to the free throw line in Big Ten play, converting 23 attempts. In the 13 nonconference games, Wahlin was 16-of-20 from the stripe.
Wahlin has already made 20 triples in Big Ten play after making 19 in the nonconference portion of the schedule.
WAHLIN REACHES MILESTONE
Senior Kamille Wahlin became just the third player in school history to make 200 career 3-pointers in Iowa’s game at Penn State (Jan. 22).
Wahlin entered the game with 197 treys and finished with five. She currently ranks third on Iowa’s career 3-point list behind Lindsey Meder (261) and Wendy Ausdemore (221).
WAHLIN AND PRINTY ARE BEST ACTIVE 3-POINT SHOOTERS
Iowa senior Kamille Wahlin and junior Jaime Printy rank first and second among active Big Ten players in career three-pointers made.
Wahlin’s 206 career 3-pointers ranks first, while Printy’s 195 rank second. Michigan’s Carmen Reynolds is third with 183, Purdue’s Brittany Rayburn is fourth with 181, Ohio State’s Samantha Prahalis is fifth with 171 and Penn State’s Maggie Lucas is sixth with 163.
HAWKEYE 3-POINT SHOOTERS IN ELITE COMPANY
Iowa is the only Big Ten school, and just one of three in the nation, to boast three players inside the top 10 in career three-point shooting in school history.
Kamille Wahlin (third), Jaime Printy (fourth) and Kelly Krei (seventh) all rank inside the top 10 in career three-pointers made at Iowa. Only Oral Roberts and Miami (Fla.) have three players inside its respective top 10.
WAHLIN DELIVERS IN THE CLUTCH
Iowa’s game against Illinois (Jan. 5) marked the seventh time in Kamille Wahlin’s four-year career that she hit a shot in the final 1:05 of a game or overtime to either tie the game or give the Hawkeyes a lead.

IOWA GUARDS LIKE TO SHARE
Iowa is the only team to have three players ranked inside the top 15 in assists in the latest Big Ten statistics.
Jaime Printy (sixth – 4.1), Kamille Wahlin (ninth – 3.5) and Samantha Logic (11th – 3.5) are all ranked. Northwestern and Michigan State have two players ranked.
In the latest NCAA statistics, Iowa ranks 28th in assists per game (15.9).
JOHNSON FROM THE FIELD
Junior Morgan Johnson leads the Big Ten and is 18th in the nation with a 54.6 (118-of-216) field goal percentage.
Johnson has atttempted at least 10 shots in 10 of Iowa’s 22 games this season. In eight of those games, Johnson has shot 50 percent or better.
Johnson was 5-of-10 (.500) vs. Harvard, 9-of-13 (.692) at Northern Iowa, 6-of-11 (.545) at Kansas State, 5-10 (.500) at Iowa State, 13-20 (.650) at Bradley, 11-16 (.688) at Ohio State, 5-of-10 (.500) vs. Illinois and 9-of-14 (.643) vs. Nebraska.
REACHING DOUBLE FIGURES
Iowa’s game at Nebraska (Jan. 26) marked the 13th time this season that at least three players have scored 10 or more points.
The Hawkeyes had all five starters score double figures against Mississippi Valley State. Four players hit double figures against Northern Iowa, Kansas State, Western Illinois and Northwestern. Three players reached double digits against Harvard, Albany, Ohio State, Illinois, Nebraska, at Purdue, vs. Wisconsin and at Nebraska.

Four Hawkeyes are currently working their way up the career records lists at Iowa.
? Kamille Wahlin ranks third in career 3-pointers made (206), sixth in career assists (386) and 13th in career scoring (1,334). She needs 16 more 3-pointers to move past Wendy Ausdemore into second place, two more assists to move past Franthea Price for fifth place and two more points to pass Lisa Becker for 12th place.
? Morgan Johnson ranks second in career blocks (205), 15th in career rebounds (573) and 32nd in career scoring (942). She needs 31 more blocks to move past Tangela Smith for first place, 42 more rebounds to move past Lynn Kennedy for 14th place and 83 more points to pass Tiffany Gooden for 31st place.
