Dates Set for Hawkeye Swimming Camps

Feb. 7, 2012

IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa swimming and diving program will host two sessions of its Hawkeye Swimming Camp on June 10-14 and June 17-21 at the Campus Recreation Center pool. The camps are open to kids ages 9-18.

The Hawkeye Swimming Camp offers an intense and fun learning experience for kids 9-18 years old. Head coach Marc Long and the Hawkeye coaching staff will instruct and demonstrate elite-level strokes, starts and turns. Campers will receive a personal DVD of individual strokes at the conclusion of the week.

The camp will be held in the state-of-the art CRWC pool, which opened in the summer of 2010. The venue is the host to both the men’s and women’s 2012 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships.

Resident (overnight) costs are $480, while commuter costs are $360. Check in the first day of camp is from 2-3 p.m., and the camp concludes at 11 a.m. on the final day. (Nine year olds are permitted to attend camp as commuters only.)
