IOWA CITY, Iowa – Two coaches coming off big wins will take their places behind the microphones tonight when the University of Iowa’s Lisa Bluder and Fran McCaffery sit down for their weekly radio shows.

Bluder, head coach of the UI’s women’s basketball team, will visit with, Brent Balbinont, the radio voice of Bluder’s Bunch, and fans of her team beginning at 6 p.m. Iowa time at Bob’s Your Uncle in Iowa City for 60 minutes of “Hawk Talk with Lisa Bluder.”

The UI women are coming off a 58-57 come-from-behind win at Michigan last Thursday that they claimed as theirs when Kamille Wahlin sank a three-pointer with 48 ticks left on the clock. That bucket gave Iowa its first lead in the game and extended the team’s winning streak to a season-high six games. The Hawkeyes play at Northwestern on Thursday night.

At 7 p.m., it’s McCaffery’s turn. Iowa’s head men’s basketball coach will sit down with the voice of the Hawkeyes, Gary Dolphin, at Carlos O’Kelly’s Mexican Café for “Hawk Talk with Fran McCaffery,” 90 minutes of talk about the Hawkeyes.

McCaffery’s squad rode the hot right hand of senior Matt Gatens and a deep bench to a 78-66 win over nationally ranked Indiana Sunday on Mediacom Court in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Gatens scored a career-high 30 points that was powered by 7-of-10 shooting from behind the arc. Eleven different Hawkeyes saw the court in the victory, a win that avenged a 103-89 loss to the Hoosiers in Bloomington, Ind., in late January.

Iowa entertains nationally ranked Wisconsin Thursday in the Arena on Matt Gatens Bobblehead Night. The Hawkeyes will be looking for a season series sweep of the Badgers; Iowa defeated Wisconsin in Madison 72-65 on New Year’s eve.
