Hawkeyes Wrap Up Spring Break Trip in Texas

HOUSTON, Texas – The University of Iowa men’s tennis team concluded its spring break trip Sunday, playing a third ranked opponent in as many days. The Hawkeyes (1-11) fell to No. 34 Memphis (12-3), 4-0, to wrap up the 54th Rice Invitational at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

The Tigers won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to win the doubles point. Memphis won the No. 2, 4 and 5 singles matches to clinch a 4-0 victory. The remaining matches went unfinished.

Iowa will return to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex on March 23, hosting Northwestern in Big Ten competition. The match will begin at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
