Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz: The Pre-Season Special

IOWA CITY, Iowa — – Fans of the University of Iowa football team are invited to take a deeper look at the 2012 Hawkeyes beginning Sunday at 6 p.m. when KCRG-TV9 Cedar Rapids airs the first edition of “Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz” for the upcoming season.

The one-hour pre-season special will also be seen later this week in central Iowa on KCCI-TV and statewide on Mediacom’s “Connections” channel. It is also available on demand online to subscribers of Hawkeye All-Access, the multi-media portal inside hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Hosted by the radio voice of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Gary Dolphin, Iowa Football with Kirk Ferentz: The Pre-Season Edition features a look at the UI’s 2012 offense and, specifically, Iowa’s quarterbacks, running backs, its offensive line and receivers; the UI defense including the line, linebackers and defensive backs, and Iowa’s special teams units. Key players from each unit will be interviewed.

The show also takes a peek at Iowa’s schedule and will take a look at the Hawkeyes’ new indoor practice facility.

The Hawkeyes open the 2012 season Saturday, Sept. 1, against Northern Illinois in Chicago’s Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Iowa time and the game will be televised live by ESPNU. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking HERE.

Iowa opens its home schedule on Sept. 8 against Iowa State in the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series game. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Iowa time with BTN providing live television coverage. The Iowa-Iowa State game is the first of four straight home games for the Hawkeyes.
